You’d just need to figure out what the mime type is for .enl and you could add that to the function. Upload an .enl using the media attachment in WordPress admin and it should show you the mime type you need.

Thank you very much for making this available. It does the job fine ! Just two things I’ve noticed : if you add atachments to the post then remove the attachments from the post, they will still appear on the post after you publish it, is there a way to get rid of that ? Also for the audio files you have an extra line of code, please delete $sAttachmentString .= “”;
for the code to work properly. Thanks

Would be really great, if you emphasize the following:

1) If “explore” option is not bold, then you haven’t clicked “set as default”. “set as default” must be clicked after selecting the “explore” option and ensure “explore” turns bold after clicking “set as default”.
2) Still doesn’t work, look at the Target field. Remove “%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe O:\” and just have “O:\” and this should do the trick.

I discovered that the shortcode works correctly if you “return” the string but the calling the function from the php does not work with “return” only if you “echo” the string. So note the new code above and call the function with < ?php get_attachment_icons($echo=true); ?> and the shortcode will use “return” by default.

Alternately you can save the following lines of text to a file named ‘Always_Explore_Folders.reg’
The import into the windows registry by double clicking the file after you save it.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

Well, I kept at it and found the answer. I made Target just O:\ and it opened to the O: driver with a Folders pane.

By the way, I also tried COPY the Windows Explorer icon and PASTE on the desktop as well as Create Shortcut. No folders pane in either case.

I did this and when I open the regular Windows Explorer, I do get the Folders pane — thank you. However, is there a way for this to be in effect for shortcuts. I create many shortcuts of the Windows Explorer icon for my desktop to take me to the folders I use the most. I’m still not getting the folders pane on those. I created a new one to see if it would only be in effect for subsequently created shortcuts, but still no folders pane. Maybe I’m not setting up the shortcut correctly. I highlight the folder icon for Windows Explorere, select Create Shortcut from the context menu, then move it to my desktop. Then I open properties and change the Target from
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe
to
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe “O:\”
or
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe O:\
Apply, OK
Now when I double-click on that icon, I do go to the O: drive, but no Folders pane.

Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

Thanks Tony got the image taken care of. Now, I’ve tried inserting the into the single.php but it not working. However, inserting the [attachment icons] into a post works.

Any suggestions how to or where to put the This would make it easier than for end-user to keep remembering to insert the shorter code.

In my example the icons are in my theme folder at /images/mime/ < img src='".get_bloginfo('template_directory')."/images/mime/pdf.png'/ > Here is the line that tells you where the icons are located but you can change this and put them anywhere you want.

Thanks a lot! I had the solution with first, but that gave me trouble when someone wants to copy & paste the values to Excel for further calculating. So this changed my layout a bit, but it works. Hurray!
